If you have recently seen this sign in wanting to start your Pidgin:

Doing some research (so googling), say that Microsoft changed the version of SSL or something about safety and what to do is delete the certificate omega . contacs.msn.com.

I leave the steps:

1. Close pidgin.
2. Open a terminal. Clear
3. the certificate (or move directory)

    rm.  purple /  certificates  /  x509  /  tls_peers  /  omega.contacts.msn.com  

4. Get the new site certificate: https: / / omega.contacts.msn.com / and save it in .purple/certificates/x509/tls_peers the name omega.contacts.msn.com (copy of certificate )

   cd.  purple /  certificates  /  x509  /  tls_peers  /  
    wget "http://blog.franciscomedina .net/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/omega.contacts.msn_.com_.txt "mv  
   omega.contacts.msn_.com_.txt omega.contacts.msn.com 

5. Start of new and ready to chat pidgin has been said.
